30 Jul 3 Reasons Why Collaboration Is Essential
When hiring talents organizations are always more human centric and are paying specific attention to certain soft skills. In 2020 LinkedIn shared the top 5 soft skills that were most in demand and among them we could find collaboration.
We did a poll on our LinkedIn page asking respondents to choose the most critical soft skills their organizations most need right now. The options were Flexibility, Creativity, Collaboration and Other. 45% of the voters selected Collaboration.
Why is collaboration so essential for our businesses? We would like to focus on three specific aspects:
- First of all, collaboration can be inspiring and can help think in a new way. In this perspective, collaboration is essential if organizations want to innovate. Bright ideas and their realizations are proven to emerge and be implemented when great minds come together with the only purpose of sharing ideas and achieving a better common result.
- Being collaborative requires making connections and meeting new people. Collaborative Leaders grow their own network – personal and professional – and help the business grow in a very genuine way through strong relationships. Also, in today’s context Leaders’ collaboration has a vital role in using business as a force for good in order to shape a more sustainable future.
- Having on board talents who are collaborative has a positive impact on problem-solving and time-management. Often also when tackling a complex situation or a problem coming together can help identify a successful solution, perhaps in a shorter amount of time. If one person cannot accomplish something, a group of colleagues who work in harmony is more likely to get it done: different experiences and new point of views can lead to an even better result than the one it was originally hoped for as individuals’ strengths are maximized.
All these aspects highlight the power of collaboration: more innovation, stronger teams, more skilled and aware employees as communication and knowledge sharing are highly promoted, and last but not least, a better customer experience. The above mentioned dynamics that occur within an organization, implicitly lead to high performance. And the customers perceive it in the high quality of the services/products delivered.
In other words, choosing collaborative talents, promoting a culture of collaboration and training such skill will help make your people and your customers happy and satisfied while setting the example in a world that needs businesses willing to make a difference.
